Do you know what the Devil hates? Do you know what the Devil fears and trembles at far above anything else a human can do? Prayer - The devil hates when a righteous Christian, who is justified by the righteousness of Christ, and has the truth of grace in him, and lives soberly and righteously, fervently communicates with their God. When someone prays in this manner, it shows the devil that there is yet another person that he has no control or power over...when someone prays like this, it reminds the devil that he will eventually lose his battle.
This is a certain type of prayer however. This isn't the simple prayer that you pray before you eat a meal...this is a prayer that is prevalent...it has power and energy and life in it...it is of the Spirit of God with understanding that whatsoever ye ask, ye shall receive if you believe. This is not praying in a cold, lukewarm, lifeless, routine way, but it is the continual [or daily] effectual fervent prayer that avails much.
Effectual - Successful in producing or capable of producing an intended effect; adequate. Valid or binding, as an agreement or document.
Fervent - Having or showing great warmth or intensity of spirit, feeling, enthusiasm, etc.; ardent. Hot; burning; glowing.
After reading these definitions, I think you understand what type of prayer the devil trembles at. When a Christian truly prays like this, there is no demon on earth or under the earth that can come against them; it is this prayer that forcefully drives even the most evil sin out of one's life; it is this prayer from the heart which adds eternal spiritual value to one's life as a whole. It is this prayer when God will impress your mind with a sense of your wants, and will fill your mouth with petitions and will make intersession for you according to the Will of God.
I challenge you to start praying like this...start doing what the devil hates and watch what happens to your life.
"Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;" ~Ephesians 6:18
"There is no power like that of prevailing prayer - of Abraham pleading for Sodom, Jacob wrestling in the stillness of the night, Moses standing in the breach, Hannah intoxicated with sorrow, David heartbroken with remorse and grief, Jesus in sweat and blood. Add to this list from the records of the church your personal observation and experience, and always there is cost of passion unto blood. Such prayer prevails. It turns ordinary mortals into men of power. It brings power. It brings fire. It brings rain. It brings life. It brings God.
